Learning Outcomes:
- Recognise common and atypical presentations of diffuse large B-cell lymphoma and thyroid nodules in primary care, alongside clinical indicators suggestive of hereditary cancer syndromes.
- Apply appropriate diagnostic tools and initial investigations, including ultrasound, fine-needle aspiration (FNA), and rapid risk-assessment tools, in accordance with the 2025 ATA Guidelines and current genomic testing criteria.
- Implement evidence-based management and screening strategies, including auditing patient records for retrospective Medicare-funded genetic testing eligibility and applying national risk management guidelines for hereditary syndromes.
- Determine when specialist referral is required, differentiating between urgent pathways for suspected lymphoma and guideline-based management for thyroid nodules and high-risk genetic carriers.
- Coordinate multidisciplinary support for patients throughout the cancer journey, from assisting with germline genetic testing to managing survivorship and supporting patients undergoing emerging oncology therapies.
