Atrial Fibrillation (AF) remains one of the most prevalent and challenging cardiac conditions encountered in clinical practice. This comprehensive 5-hour CPD course bridges the gap between foundational disease mechanics and the latest frontiers in electrophysiology.
Led by Cardiologists from Nepean Private Hospital, this activity equips practitioners with the tools to confidently identify AF risk factors, evaluate evolving procedural interventions, and recognise the clinical imperative of early specialist referral. Through a blend of interactive learning, self-assessment, and a practical clinical audit, you will gain actionable insights to optimise long-term patient outcomes and stroke prevention strategies.
This is a RACGP CPD module with an allocated 1 hour of Education Activities (EA), 2 hours of Measuring Outcomes (MO), and 2 hour of Reflective Practice (RP) under the RACGP 2026-28 CPD program.
Learning Objectives:
- Review incidence, prevalence and pathophysiology associated with Atrial Fibrillation (AF)
- Discuss lifestyle factors that increase the risk of AF
- Review medical and new procedural management of AF, including ablation and Left Atrial Occlusion Devices
- Discuss the impact of early referral for treatment of all types of AF
